Federal Judge Halts Removal of Texas Border Razor Wire by Immigration Agents

A federal judge has ordered immigration agents to stop removing or cutting through concertina wire placed on the Texas-Mexico border by state troopers and National Guard members. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued the Biden administration, claiming that Border Patrol agents illegally destroyed state property by cutting through the wire to assist migrants in crossing the border. The judge granted Paxton's request for temporary relief, with the exception of medical emergencies. Arguments in the lawsuit will be heard on November 7, and the temporary restraining order will expire on November 13. The Texas Military Department has spent $11 million on concertina wire in the past three years.
