Gov. Ivey unveils $500 million interstate projects, including I-65 widening and Hoover interchange

Governor Ivey announced three major interstate projects in Alabama, including the widening of I-65, the Hoover Interchange Project, and the widening of I-59. The I-65 project will include additional lanes and bridges, costing approximately $300 million. The Hoover Interchange Project will connect I-459 to Highway 150 and South Shades Crest Road, improving traffic flow and reducing crashes, with a total cost of $120 million. The I-59 project will widen a four-mile stretch to six lanes, alleviating congestion and accommodating future traffic, with an estimated cost of $80 million. The projects will take about two years to complete.
