A section of I-95 in Philadelphia that collapsed after a gasoline tanker truck crash will reopen within two weeks, according to Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro. President Biden pledged federal funding for the reconstruction, with the federal government fully reimbursing the state for the first phase and contributing 90% of the cost after that. The rebuilding of the overpass will be expedited with the use of 2,000 tons of lightweight nuggets of recycled glass. A permanent replacement bridge is expected to be built next to it while the exit ramp is rebuilt.
