Biden's Complex Relationship with Israel and Gaza

President Biden has been praised for his empathy and support for Israelis in the aftermath of recent attacks by Hamas. However, many Arab and Muslim Americans, as well as antiwar liberals, feel that Biden's compassion is lacking when it comes to the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza. They argue that Biden rarely talks about the Palestinian children and the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, and they criticize his dismissal of casualty numbers from the Gaza Ministry of Health. While Biden's top officials have shown more willingness to criticize Israel and express empathy for Palestinians, Biden himself has been more reluctant to do so. Arab and Muslim Americans who supported Biden in the belief that he would prioritize human rights and empathize with their grief now feel betrayed and are reconsidering their support for him in the next election.
