Calls for Ceasefire in Gaza Spark Controversy and Protests

Thirteen House Democrats, led by Reps. Cori Bush, Rashida Tlaib, André Carson, Summer Lee, and Delia Ramirez, have introduced a resolution urging the Biden administration to call for an immediate ceasefire in Israel and occupied Palestine and to send humanitarian aid to Gaza. The resolution comes after previous efforts fell short of calling for an end to violence. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reports that at least 2,808 Palestinians have been killed and 10,859 wounded. Some Democratic staffers have criticized the silence of Democrats on the issue and accused them of being willing accomplices to what is happening.
