WSJ reporter Evan Gershkovich detained in Russia, family remains hopeful for his release.

Journalist Evan Gershkovich, who is being held in Moscow's Lefortovo prison on espionage charges, has sent a handwritten letter to his family in which he says he is "not losing hope" and continues to read and write in detention. Gershkovich, a correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, was arrested in March during a reporting trip to Yekaterinburg. The Journal has denied that Gershkovich is a spy, and the State Department has called him "wrongfully detained." The US has demanded access to Gershkovich, but so far only his Russian attorneys have been allowed to visit him.
