Federal Appeals Court Blocks California Law Banning Gun Ads to Minors

A federal appeals court has blocked a California law that restricts advertisements of firearms and related products to minors, stating that it infringes on free speech and is unlikely to reduce gun violence. The court noted that California already has some of the strictest gun laws in the country and that the state had not provided evidence that the law would effectively prevent minors from unlawfully purchasing guns. California Governor Gavin Newsom had championed the law, citing the need for gun safety protections.
