Tragic Accident Claims Life of McAlester Police Officer During Funeral Procession

McAlester Patrolman Joseph Barlow has died from injuries sustained during a head-on crash with a pickup truck while escorting the funeral procession of Capt. Richard Parker, who died suddenly after serving the community for nearly 26 years. Barlow served in the United States Army and his death is another tragedy for the McAlester Police Department. The driver who crashed into the procession was arrested on a complaint of driving illegally while causing great bodily harm as well as driving without a license.
