Carlishia Hood, a woman who was charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of 32-year-old Jeremy Brown along with her 14-year-old son, is suing the city of Chicago and several police officers for malicious prosecution, false arrest, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. All charges against both Hood and her son were dropped on Monday, and they were released from custody. The decision to drop the charges came after video came to light showing Brown punching Hood at least three times before her son shot him.
