$2B Powerball Winner Sued for Allegedly Stealing Winning Ticket

Edwin Castro, who won the $2 billion Powerball lottery jackpot last year, has been served legal papers at his home in Hollywood Hills, notifying him of a pending lawsuit. The suit, filed in Los Angeles County in February, accuses Castro of stealing the winning ticket from a fellow California resident named Jose Rivera. Castro's attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment confirming that his client had been served. Despite the lottery commission's confidence, the lawsuit is moving forward. The case's next major hearing is scheduled for July 24.
