Lawsuit filed after man drowns in front of cops at Arizona lake.

A lawsuit has been filed against the City of Tempe and police officers on scene for negligence after 34-year-old Sean Bickings drowned in Tempe Town Lake in Arizona while police officers looked on and refused to help. The lawsuit accuses the city of failing to uphold their duty to keep Bickings safe and not having proper safety measures in place around the lake. The city did not have lifeguards on duty or any life preservers or flotation devices stationed around the water despite a history of drownings at the lake. The lawsuit asks for damages of an unspecified amount for Bickings’ family’s pain, suffering, and grief and also asks for punitive damages.
