A court has denied Donald Trump's request to pause a $454m penalty in his New York civil fraud case, ruling that he must post a bond to cover the full amount while he appeals the judgment. The judge also paused a ban on Trump seeking loans from New York banks, but New York's attorney general has vowed to seize his assets if he doesn't pay. Trump's lawyers argued that he would "suffer irreparable harm" if forced to pay the entire sum and offered to post a $100m bond, but the court ruled against them. The penalty will continue to accrue interest if Trump refuses to pay, and he was also ordered to pay $83m in a separate defamation case.
