Defendant in Georgia 2020 election interference case pleads not guilty

Ray Smith, an attorney for Trump's 2020 campaign in Georgia, has pleaded not guilty to a dozen counts, including conspiracy and false statement charges, in the election interference case brought by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. Smith is the first defendant to enter a plea, while the remaining 18 defendants, including former President Donald Trump, will be arraigned on September 6.
