The Cook County state's attorney's office dropped murder charges against Hood and her son after a video surfaced showing the man repeatedly punching her. The lawsuit alleges false arrest and malicious prosecution, claiming that Hood was brutally attacked without provocation and her son acted in defense of an unarmed woman.
