California Attorney General Rob Bonta has announced travel restrictions to three states - Missouri, Nebraska, and Wyoming - due to recently enacted anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. The laws in these states target and marginalize transgender youth by prohibiting their participation in sports based on their gender identity and restricting access to gender-affirming healthcare. These travel restrictions are mandated by California Assembly Bill 1887, which aims to prevent state-funded travel to states with discriminatory laws. The AG's office cited a concerning trend of discriminatory practices across the country and emphasized the risks these laws pose to LGBTQ+ youth.
