Feathered Hero: Pet goose wakes family to barn fire, saving dozens of birds

A family’s pet goose named Goosey woke Bert Gerber in the middle of the night as a barn fire engulfed their Richmond, Texas, shed, waking the family and saving about 60 turkeys and chickens; Gerber extinguished the flames quickly, and surveillance video of Goosey’s alarm went viral; Goosey has since become a guardian among the farm animals, and the Gerbers plan to upgrade wiring and maybe get another goose.
