Boston faces backlash over handling of homeless encampment.
TL;DR
Portland Parks and Recreation placed large logs and turned over soil at Madrona Park in North Portland to deter homeless camping, drawing criticism from neighbors who say it looks unattractive and heavy-handed. The changes are designed to return the area back to its natural state, with the logs being allowed to decompose naturally and native vegetation being planted in the coming months.
