Manhole Emergence Videos Prompt NYC Sewer Investigation
TL;DR
Videos showing groups of men climbing out of Brooklyn manholes triggered a police inquiry, but authorities say there is no threat to the public and no injuries or arrests have been reported. Investigators suspect the group might be scavenging valuables from the sewer system, though two Brooklyn incidents aren’t yet linked and no sewer damage was found by the NYPD’s Emergency Services Unit or NYC DEP.
