Fayetteville man linked to string of shootings and carjackings arrested

A Fayetteville man was arrested after police tied him to three shootings and two carjacking attempts Sunday morning. The sequence began on Messenger Street with a shooting, then a shooting and carjacking at Hardee’s on Ramsey Street, followed by another shooting and attempted carjacking at Food Lion on McArthur Road. Two women were hospitalized, and investigators said the suspect had a prior shooting outside city limits; area closures around McArthur Road and Ramsey Street were in place as police continued the probe.
