Oakland toddlers steal car, crash into pedestrian leaving dog-walker critically injured

Two Oakland brothers, ages 7 and 4, allegedly took their sleeping parents' white Toyota, drove into oncoming traffic, sideswiped a car, and struck a woman walking her dog near 35th Avenue and Mangels Avenue around 9:35 a.m. The woman is in critical condition; the children were hospitalized with a broken leg (7-year-old) and a concussion (4-year-old). Relatives say the keys were taken while the parents slept; investigators are reviewing surveillance video and the circumstances remain under investigation.
