FBI Director Urges Swift Action Against Rising Terror Threats

FBI Director Christopher Wray informed the Senate Judiciary Committee that the bureau is working tirelessly to identify and disrupt potential attacks inspired by the recent Hamas attacks in Israel. While there is currently no evidence of Hamas conducting operations within the US, Wray expressed concern about the possibility of violence by Hamas supporters. He also highlighted the increase in hate crimes, particularly antisemitic threats, since October 7. Wray emphasized the importance of reauthorizing Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, stating that it is crucial for detecting and preventing foreign terrorist organizations from carrying out attacks on American soil.
