"4.4 Magnitude Quake Rattles Southern California Coastline"

A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck off the Southern California coast, 61 miles south of Avalon and 69 miles west-southwest of San Diego, with no reported injuries or damage. This is the third earthquake with a 4.1 magnitude or higher to hit Southern California in January, and while tens of thousands of earthquakes are recorded in California each year, the vast majority of them are extremely minor.
