Deadly Tornado Strikes Matador, Texas Amid Heat Wave

Multiple tornadoes, hurricane-force winds, and large hail caused widespread damage in north Texas, killing at least four people and injuring 10. The storm system hit the town of Matador, which has a population of under 600 people, and caused an "unprecedented tornado," according to local officials. The devastating storm came amid a heat wave that settled over much of the state, with temperatures expected to reach about 110 degrees Fahrenheit. The tornado outbreak came just six days after another tornado left three people dead and more than 100 injured in Perryton in the northern Texas Panhandle.
