Flash flooding caused by heavy rainfall and lightning strikes swept away multiple people in Las Vegas, turning the famous Strip into a river and causing damage to buildings. One person was located but could not be rescued, while another person was still missing. The flooding comes after tropical storm Hilary brought flash flooding to California and caused destruction in Mexico. Severe thunderstorm and flash-flood warnings were issued for the area, with more rainfall expected. This is not the first time heavy rains have caused damage to the Strip's casinos.
