Indiana and Chicago Area Ravaged by Multiple Tornadoes in Friday Night Storms

More than a dozen tornadoes touched down in Indiana on Friday, March 31, causing deaths and property damage across the state. The National Weather Service is still compiling its list of tornado reports, but as of April 2, there were 17 reported tornadoes. The tornadoes ranged in EF rating from EF-0 to EF-3, with peak winds up to 155 mph. The tornadoes caused damage to homes, power poles, and farm outbuildings, as well as downed trees and power lines. At least five people were killed in the tornadoes.
