New Jersey Hit by Multiple Tornadoes, Schools Closed and Cleanup Continues

The National Weather Service has confirmed that six tornadoes hit parts of New Jersey during a series of intense thunderstorms on Saturday night, making it one of the biggest single-day tornado outbreaks on record in the Garden State. The newest confirmed tornadoes were an EF-1 that touched down in the Crosswicks section of Chesterfield Township in Burlington County, and an EF-1 that landed in the Allentown area of Monmouth County and moved into the Cream Ridge section of Upper Freehold Township. The weather service is still examining storm damage reports in one more New Jersey location.
