"Southern California Hit by Devastating Mudslides, Prompting Widespread Evacuations"
TL;DR
Torrential rains in Southern California have caused mudslides, damaging homes and prompting evacuations in several communities including Beverly Crest, Beverly Glen, Studio City, Baldwin Hills, La Habra, and Sherman Oaks. The heavy rains have saturated the soil, leading to debris flows and significant property damage, with some homes being red-tagged as uninhabitable. The incidents occurred as a potent atmospheric river storm continues to dump rain on the region, prompting flood watches and warnings across the area.
