Southern Minnesota Highway Closed Due to Mudslide and Flooding

Heavy rain in southern Minnesota caused flooding and a mudslide that closed State Highway 68. The highway reopened after officials cleared the debris and monitored the slide area. The closure caused additional detours for drivers due to long-term construction. The heavy rain also caused flooding in Comfrey and led to new flood warnings for stretches of the Minnesota, Cottonwood, and Redwood rivers. After lingering rain moves out of the region on Sunday, drier conditions are expected in Minnesota for Monday and Tuesday.
