Gator Myth Confirmed: Workers Discover Alligator in Florida Sewer Pipe.
TL;DR
A work crew in Oviedo, Florida discovered a 5-foot alligator residing in a sludge-filled pipe during a routine pothole inspection. The moment was captured in video footage that recalled the enduring big-city myth that inspired the 1980 B-movie “Alligator.” Alligators are not an uncommon sight in the Florida storm runoff network, and they have also been spotted in New York City. The gator was discovered by a robot equipped with a camera, and officials are glad that it wasn't a human that encountered the beast.
