Bannon subpoenaed in Jan. 6 grand jury probe.

Steve Bannon, a former Trump White House official, has been subpoenaed by a federal grand jury in Washington, D.C. in connection with special counsel Jack Smith's investigation into Jan. 6 and former President Donald Trump's efforts to stay in office. The subpoena, for documents and testimony, was sent out in late May. Bannon was previously charged with contempt of Congress for refusing to cooperate after he received congressional subpoenas from the Jan. 6 committee, and was convicted of two charges in July 2022 following a jury trial.
