President Joe Biden celebrated St. Patrick's Day with Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar, expressing support for the Good Friday Agreement and the recent Windsor Framework aimed at easing tensions over Northern Ireland's trading status. Biden also declared March Irish-American heritage month and plans to visit both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland to mark the 25th anniversary of the peace accord. Varadkar thanked the U.S. for its leadership in supporting Ukraine and praised America's role in promoting LGBTQ rights. The annual Washington tradition was cancelled the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
