DNC Autopsy Draft Highlights Campaign Missteps and Leadership Strains
The Democratic National Committee released a nearly 200-page draft autopsy of the 2024 campaign, faulting both Biden’s operation and Harris’s team for failing to distance from Biden and to mount an effective strategy against Trump. The document, criticized as disorganized and containing unverified passages, exposes leadership tensions at the D.N.C., questions about its finances (the party reported debt with little cash on hand), and calls for a shift toward economic messaging over identity politics ahead of 2028. It has prompted renewed scrutiny of D.N.C. chair Ken Martin and sparked debate about how the party should move forward.
