"Chris Christie's Fiery Exit from 2024 Race: Hot Mic Controversy and GOP Fallout"
TL;DR
Former New Jersey governor Chris Christie was caught on a hot mic saying GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley will "get smoked" in the primary race, moments before ending his 2024 presidential campaign. Christie also mentioned Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and criticized Haley's campaign spending. Despite leaving the race, Christie did not immediately endorse any of his former competitors and has been a vocal critic of former president Donald Trump. This incident has left the anti-Trump movement splintered, with Christie defying calls to bow out.
