Colorado Governor Enacts Sweeping Gun Control Measures in Response to Mass Shooting.

Colorado's governor signed four gun control bills aimed at reducing suicides, youth violence, and mass shootings, as well as opening avenues for gun violence victims to sue the firearm industry. Gun rights groups have already sued to reverse two of the measures, raising the buying age for any gun from 18 to 21 and establishing a three-day waiting period between the purchase and receipt of a gun. Republicans decried the bills as onerous encroachments on Second Amendment rights that would impede Colorado residents' ability to defend themselves amid a rising statewide crime rate.
