"Congress meets with IRS whistleblower's lawyer amid Hunter Biden probe"

The attorney for the IRS whistleblower in the Hunter Biden criminal probe met with members of Congress to discuss how his client could share information without violating taxpayer privacy laws. The whistleblower alleges that the Justice Department interfered in and mishandled the investigation, and could provide information that contradicts sworn testimony to Congress by a senior political appointee. The House Ways and Means committee is working to evaluate the allegations and information the whistleblower shares with Congress. Attorney General Merrick Garland has promised not to interfere with the work of the U.S. attorney in Delaware who is leading the probe.
