Controversy Surrounds Governor's Appointment of New Senator in Nebraska Legislature
TL;DR
Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen appointed Carolyn Bosn as the new state senator to replace Suzanne Geist, who resigned to focus on her mayoral race. However, Democratic lawmakers criticized the timing of the announcement and the lack of transparency in the selection process. Bosn shares the same views as her predecessor, including the belief that life begins at conception. Nebraska's Accountability and Disclosure Commission informed Senator Machaela Cavanaugh it can't act on the Governor's transparency.
