Court rules against Trump's attempt to block Pence's Jan. 6 testimony.

A federal appeals court has ruled that former Vice President Mike Pence cannot be blocked by Donald Trump from testifying before a grand jury investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. The ruling clears the way for Pence to speak under oath about the pressure Trump put him under to declare the 2020 election results invalid. Trump could appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, but other people in his orbit have testified after similar losing battles. Pence's testimony is expected to shed light on his conversations with Trump and his close advisers during the Capitol attack.
