Declassified files fall short of backing Trump's election-security claims
TL;DR
BBC Verify finds no bombshell revelations in four sets of declassified election documents and no evidence that interference or fraud changed the outcome of past elections, including 2020. The materials discuss limited Chinese data acquisition and vulnerabilities in voting machines, but do not substantiate broad claims or prove widespread fraud or non-citizen voting, leaving Trump’s narrative largely unproven by these files.
