Delaware U.S. Attorney Disputes Claims of Interference in Hunter Biden Probe

Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss contradicted whistleblower testimony by stating that Justice Department officials assured him of broad authority to bring charges in jurisdictions outside of Delaware in the federal investigation into Hunter Biden. Weiss clarified that he had discussions regarding potential appointment under 28 U.S.C. § 515, which would have allowed him to file charges in a district outside his own without the partnership of the local U.S. Attorney. He also denied being denied the authority to bring charges in any jurisdiction and echoed Attorney General Merrick Garland's statement that he had complete authority in the case.
