Democrat George Whitesides Wins Key California House Seat
TL;DR
Democrat George Whitesides has defeated Republican incumbent Mike Garcia, flipping a Los Angeles area House seat to the Democrats. Garcia, a three-term representative and former fighter-jet pilot, had been a target for Democrats due to his conservative voting record and support for a national abortion ban. Whitesides, the former CEO of Virgin Galactic, leveraged his aerospace background and strong fundraising, with significant support from Democratic groups, to secure the victory.
