DeSantis and Trump clash over leadership and interviews.
TL;DR
Former President Trump criticized Florida Governor Ron DeSantis after the latter's interview with Piers Morgan, in which DeSantis took jabs at Trump's character and leadership. Trump's team is trying to cast DeSantis as disloyal to him in the face of New York prosecutors. DeSantis has hinted at a possible 2024 presidential bid, and polling suggests he could be a top challenger to Trump. Trump-aligned super PAC Make America Great Again Inc. claimed that DeSantis's interview was a result of his falling poll numbers. Trump endorsed DeSantis in 2018 but has since said he regrets it.
