"DeSantis Faces Challenges and Uncertainty in 2024 GOP Race"
TL;DR
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis angered the GOP Chair of Rockland County, New York, after his presidential campaign failed to coordinate a fundraiser with the local party leader. The campaign sent out a flier for the event without giving any prior notice to the county's GOP Chair, Lawrence Garvey. Garvey expressed disappointment and expected an apology for the oversight. The campaign later moved the fundraiser to a more private venue due to planned protests by Democratic groups. DeSantis is a popular choice among New York Republicans as a potential presidential candidate, with many seeing him as "Trump-ish without the baggage."
