DeSantis vs. Disney: Toll and Tax Threats Fly

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has threatened to impose taxes on Disney's hotels and roads leading to its theme park, and strip the company of its control over development in a district overseeing its property. The feud began when Disney criticised the state's Parental Rights in Education Act, which bans education about sexual orientation and gender identity for pupils aged nine and under. DeSantis has pushed to expand the legislation to cover all grades. Disney is among Florida's largest employers.
