Election Results: Durham and Cary Races Set for General Election

The Durham mayoral race has narrowed down to two candidates, Leonardo Williams and Mike Woodard, who will compete in the general election on November 7. Williams received 51.3% of the votes, while Woodard received 29%. They discussed their plans, with Williams emphasizing the need for a culture change and increased engagement, while Woodard focused on staffing issues within the police department and affordable housing. DeDreana Freeman, a current City Council member, received the third-most votes. Other candidates included Charlitta Burruss, Sylvester Williams, Marshall Williams Junior, Jontae Dunston, and Nick Pettiford.
