Ex-Capitol Officer Sues Blaze Media Over Jan. 6 Pipe-Bomb Allegation

A former Capitol Police officer, Shauni Kerkhoff, now with the CIA, filed a defamation lawsuit in Virginia against Blaze Media and two reporters, alleging they used a flawed gait-analysis to falsely claim she planted pipe bombs outside the RNC and DNC the night before Jan. 6, 2021. The DOJ did not support the pipe-bomber theory, and the suit argues the reporting spurred conspiracy theories, threats, and an FBI probe. Kerkhoff seeks unspecified damages; Blaze has not commented publicly.
