"Florida Governor Deploys Troops to Southern Coast Amid Haiti Crisis"
TL;DR
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is deploying over 250 soldiers, aircraft, and boats to protect the state from vessels carrying Haitian asylum seekers amid ongoing unrest in Haiti. The decision comes after the US Coast Guard repatriated 65 Haitian asylum seekers and as gang violence continues to permeate across Haiti. This move follows the resignation of Haiti's Prime Minister Ariel Henry and the deployment of US Marines to evacuate the US embassy in Haiti.
