"Florida's July 1st: A Wave of New Laws on Guns, Immigration, and More"

More than 200 laws passed during the 2023 legislative session in Florida will take effect on July 1, including expanded school vouchers, restrictions on teaching about sexual orientation and gender identity, limits on using TikTok, carrying guns without concealed-weapons licenses, and a larger Florida State Guard. Other laws include prohibiting colleges and universities from spending money on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, allowing Floridians to carry guns without concealed-weapons licenses, and imposing restrictions on which bathrooms transgender people can use at schools and public buildings.
