George Santos Faces Additional Charges: Identity Theft and Credit Card Fraud

Federal prosecutors have added new charges to the indictment against House Republican George Santos, accusing him of stealing donors' identities and charging thousands of dollars to their credit cards without their knowledge. The updated indictment also alleges a conspiracy to submit false reports to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) to inflate his campaign's fundraising. Santos, who won his seat through a campaign built on falsehoods, had previously pleaded not guilty to charges of fraud, money laundering, theft of public funds, and making false statements. His former campaign treasurer, Nancy Marks, has already pleaded guilty to defrauding the United States and may testify against Santos at trial.
