"House Panel Advances Impeachment Vote for DHS Secretary Mayorkas"
TL;DR
The House Homeland Security Committee is expected to approve articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro N. Mayorkas, with Republicans accusing him of refusing to uphold the law and breaching the public trust in his handling of a surge of migrants across the U.S.-Mexico border. Despite opposition from Democrats and legal scholars questioning the evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors, the charges are likely to pass the House but face a challenging path in the Democratic-controlled Senate.
