House to vote on controversial Parents Bill of Rights Act.

House Republicans are set to pass a bill that would guarantee parents access to information about their children’s public education, including class curriculums, readings lists, library books, and the school’s budget. The bill would also require administrators to notify parents of any violent acts that happen on school grounds and to collaborate with them on how best to protect their child’s online data, among other measures. While the House is expected to pass the Parents Bill of Rights Act, it is highly unlikely the Democratic-controlled Senate will consider the legislation.
